2013, 1st quarter

Date: 21/08/2012 - This training was focused on quality of products. Thanks to speaker who clearly explained the stages of a project and its importance. Design cycle, cost, performance improvements, time line etc., were focus of this training

Date: 11-12/10/2012 - This training was intended to understand the products already manufactured in the company and how it has reached from research to market. This training also explained the intricacies and tips in security alarms. At the end of the training an exam was conducted and awarded with an certification

Date:15 & 18/10/2012 - This training was focused on training how to maintain a good relation with the supplier and how to negotiate with them on price based on the project. This training also helped in identifying and judging various tradeoffs in a project (e.g: cost, performance etc)

Date:03/11/2012 - This training was focused on installing various sensors. This gave me a clear idea on where to focus, what are the early design decisions which helped common man to install without troubles. Clear understanding of product in hand, steps in installation, tools required were clearly explained before hand and finally made a hands-on installation and tested.

Date:09/11/2012 - This training was focused on organization structure. As JABLOTRON HOLDING has various branches focusing on different business activities, this training helped in understanding the structure and also pin pointed who is the person to contact during the project phases.

Date:28/11/2012 - This training was focused on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). This training was very interesting one to see the link between the supplier, company, customer data management. Tools used, modules of the tools, E-Shop maintenance, training management, sales analysis, planning, stock managment were focused during the training

Date:07/02/2013 - This training was focused on understand and identify requirements. It gave more insights at the gap between what market needs and what developer makes during the project. This training focused on also looking at the feedback of distributor channels which are easy contact point to get sense the customer needs. Identifying best performing distributors for the company were also given due importance during this training

Date:15/02/2013 - This training was focused on tapping new markets (e.g India). Areas of focus such as regions to concentrate, pricing scenario, frequency policies, regulations, duties etc., This helped to clearly understand the areas to focus before launching a product in new market. Since radiation detectors need all these focus this training was very interesting with the past experience shared by colleagues in the company

Date:22/02/2013 - This training was focused on formulation of business strategy. This training is a continuation of the early two training focused on market research and new market identification. The final outcome of this training is a clear understanding of the bigger picture of business. These trainings helped to combine both scientific point of view and customer point of view.

European researchers mobility conference was organized by the Irish presidency to look at future research funding scenarios focusing HORIZON-2020. This conference focused on how to stay competitive in research compared to other nations and also to look at how to retain talent in Europe. Various funding scenarios and opinions from researchers were taken into account and reported back to the European commission. This conference was attended and addressed by Minister of research and innovation,EU commissioner for research and innovation, EU commission for Marie-Curie actions and many more. During this conference I was able to explain the role of Marie-Curie funding and its positive effect on researchers. I won the researcher bursary competition and was funded for all the expenses during the conference.

ICPE-EPEC conference was attended by more than 300 physics teachers from high schools, universities, research centers to identify methodology to teach physics. As part of this program Jablotron Alarms a.s became one of the conference partners and exhibited Medipix/Timepix based MX-10 particle camera. This was partly funded by ARDENT to present a poster on the technology.

WE-Heraeus Physics School on "Ionizing radiation and protection of Man" was a two weeks intensive school. This school provided wide overview on various topics of radiation such as basics in radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation statistics, radio ecology, radioepidemiology. It also covered insights on natural radiation exposure, ionizing radiation in medicine and practical aspects of radiation protection. Hands on training on with various radiation detectors and natural sources of radiation were also arranged during this school. Secondment

As part of the ARDENT project, secondment was carried out at IEAP, Prague. This secondment was dedicated towards calibration of Medipix device and other experimental activities. Several experiments such as background radiation, experiments in the X-ray chamber were carried out with GM tube based radiation device. These experiments helped to understand the behavior of the GM tube and its performance. Special thanks to IEAP and especially Dr.Zdenek Vykydal who helped during these experiments. This period was dedicated to internally test the electronics of the GX-10 device. During the period, several GM tubes were tested to analyze if the power supply module fits different kind of tube. Further more communication testing was performed for wireless and wired connection. Few radiation related tests were made with low radioactive uranium glass.

Climate-KIC organized "The Journey" program. I participated in a competitive selection process to get selected into this program. The program was completely funded for accomodation, travel, courses. I was one of the participant among participant from about 23 countries. People from different parts of the world participated in this program with one focus "Starting a company which has climate impact". This program taught every aspect of a entrepreneurial journey from idea to establishing a company. There were several brainstorming, ideation session to identify the idea. then followed by team building, explaining need for a team, business plan writing, financial plan preparation, pitching session etc. Finally the pitch competition was held in Wageningen, Netherland, we pitched to an international jury and won the challenge. It was one month full of challenges, good networking with lot of good friends, visits to very interesting places such as Viessman, SMA (solar inverter manufacturers), Green house etc. It was one of the wonderful journey which I will cherish life long for the learning and challenge experienced. Thanks to Climate-KIC for this wonderful opportunity.

Date:15 & 18/10/2012 - This training was focused on training how to maintain a good relation with the supplier and how to negotiate with them on price based on the project. This training also helped in identifying and judging various tradeoffs in a project (e.g: cost, performance etc)

Date:03/11/2012 - This training was focused on installing various sensors. This gave me a clear idea on where to focus, what are the early design decisions which helped common man to install without troubles. Clear understanding of product in hand, steps in installation, tools required were clearly explained before hand and finally made a hands-on installation and tested.

Date:09/11/2012 - This training was focused on organization structure. As JABLOTRON HOLDING has various branches focusing on different business activities, this training helped in understanding the structure and also pin pointed who is the person to contact during the project phases.

Tools used, modules of the tools, E-Shop maintenance, training management, sales analysis, planning, stock managment were focused during the training

Date:07/02/2013 - This training was focused on understand and identify requirements. It gave more insights at the gap between what market needs and what developer makes during the project. This training focused on also looking at the feedback of distributor channels which are easy contact point to get sense the customer needs. Identifying best performing distributors for the company were also given due importance during this training

Date:15/02/2013 - This training was focused on tapping new markets (e.g India). Areas of focus such as regions to concentrate, pricing scenario, frequency policies, regulations, duties etc., This helped to clearly understand the areas to focus before launching a product in new market. Since radiation detectors need all these focus this training was very interesting with the past experience shared by colleagues in the company

European researchers mobility conference was organized by the Irish presidency to look at future research funding scenarios focusing HORIZON-2020. This conference focused on how to stay competitive in research compared to other nations and also to look at how to retain talent in Europe. Various funding scenarios and opinions from researchers were taken into account and reported back to the European commission. This conference was attended and addressed by Minister of research and innovation,EU commissioner for research and innovation, EU commission for Marie-Curie actions and many more. During this conference I was able to explain the role of Marie-Curie funding and its positive effect on researchers. I won the researcher bursary competition and was funded for all the expenses during the conference.

WE-Heraeus Physics School on "Ionizing radiation and protection of Man" was a two weeks intensive school. This school provided wide overview on various topics of radiation such as basics in radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation statistics, radio ecology, radioepidemiology. It also covered insights on natural radiation exposure, ionizing radiation in medicine and practical aspects of radiation protection. Hands on training on with various radiation detectors and natural sources of radiation were also arranged during this school. As part of the ARDENT project, secondment was carried out at IEAP, Prague. This secondment was dedicated towards calibration of Medipix device and other experimental activities. Several experiments such as background radiation, experiments in the X-ray chamber were carried out with GM tube based radiation device. This period was dedicated to internally test the electronics of the GX-10 device. During the period, several GM tubes were tested to analyze if the power supply module fits different kind of tube. Climate-KIC organized "The Journey" program. I participated in a competitive selection process to get selected into this program. The program was completely funded for accomodation, travel, courses. I was one of the participant among participant from about 23 countries. People from different parts of the world participated in this program with one focus "Starting a company which has climate impact". This program taught every aspect of a entrepreneurial journey from idea to establishing a company. There were several brainstorming, ideation session to identify the idea. then followed by team building, explaining need for a team, business plan writing, financial plan preparation, pitching session etc. Finally the pitch competition was held in Wageningen, Netherland, we pitched to an international jury and won the challenge. It was one month full of challenges, good networking with lot of good friends, visits to very interesting places such as Viessman, SMA (solar inverter manufacturers), Green house etc. It was one of the wonderful journey which I will cherish life long for the learning and challenge experienced. Thanks to Climate-KIC for this wonderful opportunity.
