Supervisory Board

The role, members

The Supervisory Board (SB) is composed of one senior representative from each partner (Full and Associate). Its role is to oversee the general running of the network and it is responsible for:

  • approving the implementation of the training programme for scientific, technical and complementary skills
  • authorizing deviations from the research and training programme if required
  • monitoring and evaluating the overall progress of the research training programme
  • ensuring exchange of best training practice within the partnership

ITN Management Office

The role, members

The ITN Management Office is in charge of the overall management of the network programme. It is chaired by the Scientist in Charge and includes the Chairs of the Technical Training Board, Training Board and Dissemination and Outreach Board. The Office reports to the Supervisory Board and is responsible for:

  • overall management of the research programme
  • detailed follow-up of the progress of the individual research projects, monitoring the continuity and quality of the plan for individual researchers
  • taking executive decisions for the implementation of the research-training programme, co-organization of network-wide training events (courses and workshops)
  • overview of the integration of the researchers into the research team(s)
  • review of the Personal Career Development Plans (PCDP)
  • gathering and dissemination of project results resolving the issues related to the project

Administrative Support Unit

The role

The Administrative Support Unit at CERN assists the Scientist in Charge by providing administrative support on financial, contractual and personnel matters.

Selection Committees

The role

Vacancies are advertised network-wide, but each partner is responsible for selecting the candidate(s) for its ESR position(s). Candidates are selected by each institute by a local selection committee and according to the rules of the institute.

Technical Training Board

The role, members

The Technical Training Board is composed of the four technical WP leaders; it monitors the progress of the technical WPs and ensures that each WP meets its milestones. The Board regularly reports to the Scientist in Charge and to the Supervisory Board.

Members of the Technical Training Board are:

Training Board

The role, members

The Training Board (WP5) is composed of one representative per Full Partner; its role is to check that each ESR follows his/her training programme as foreseen in their Personal Career Development Plan (WP 5.1). The Training Board also coordinates network-wide training activities (WP 5.2) and ensures that the training programme matches the requirements of the future job market in the academic and industrial sectors. The Board regularly reports to the Scientist in Charge and to the Supervisory Board.

Dissemination and Outreach Board

The role, members

The Dissemination and Outreach Board (WP6) is composed of six members from either the Full or Associate partner; its task is to promote and monitor the dissemination and outreach activities. The Board regularly reports to the Scientist in Charge and to the Supervisory Board.
